Your skin is always adapting to you and your environment. When it undergoes some type of wound or trauma, it works hard to heal and protect you from infection, but sometimes it’s not able to heal back to its original form.
Deep painful acne, picking, and of course injury can all lead to scarring in some form. Stretch marks occur when your skin isn’t able to keep up as the volume increases, resulting in thin bands forming across the stretched out area.
This can happen during pregnancy, growth spurts, and weight gain.
